What is trustserv.de?
Trustserv.de is my little project to create a “secure” mail/irc/webserver for me and my friends.
Why?
I used gmail and such services alot, until i realized that its actually not that good, because when you pay nothing for a company which offers a service for free, it must get its money from somewhere else. For example in selling your data, analyzing them etc. For that reason i created my own mail server – trustserv.de
Is it NSA proof?
Probably not. I dont know, i do not work at NSA, so i can not say it is. But i try to use latest security mechanisms (e.g. only strong ciphers [ECDHE/GCM etc.]) to protect as good as possible.
Is it a public service?
No. When someone requires a mail address, he can request one. But it is up to me if i accept the registration or not.
Security/Data usage
I will not use any scanner/bot/marketing etc. on the mails except spam protection. It is up to you to make sure you get no viruses – and i am not responsible if you infect yourself when opening a bad mail.
When pages are visited, the IP and the browsers User Agent is stored in the logfile for 7 days. This is required if someone does something evil. They wont be used in any other way except for optimizing the server and for abuse tracking (e.g. DDoS, SQLi, …).
No other information are stored or used. No tracking etc. on the webpage. No cookies whatsoever. When you use the mail service, of course the mail adress and the hashed password is registered in the database.
